International Dance Day
Gaurs International School, Siddharth Vihar, Ghaziabad marked International Dance Day 2025 with a spellbinding Solo Dance Competition themed “Rhythms of Cultures of India.”
The celebration began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by a graceful Ganesh Vandana by our talented Class 1 students.
The atmosphere was graced by the presence of two incredible personalities who truly embody the spirit of dance. Mamta Farsaiya is a living inspiration who began her dance journey in her late 50s and has mesmerized audiences with expressive solo, duet, and group performances. Her collaboration with legendary singer Anup Jalota in a music video stands as a testimony to her talent and determination, reminding us all that it is never too late to shine.
Shanky Singh, a prodigious Kathak dancer, teacher, and researcher, is a disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji and a resident faculty at Kalashram, New Delhi. Trained in various Indian classical and folk forms, his performances have graced renowned platforms such as the Khajuraho Dance Festival, World Cultural Festival, and Purana Qila Festival. At just 29, he stands as a beacon of tradition, technique, and grace.
The School Principal, Ms. Vandana Seth, extended a heartfelt welcome to both the esteemed guests, setting a tone of reverence and celebration for the day.
The young performers truly brought the rhythms of India to life—each beat and each movement echoing the rich cultural soul of our nation. Let dance continue to unite, inspire, and express!
